What the Free Evaluation Involves
Most evaluations are completed from the exterior of your home as needed. We look first for any contributing factors, both structural and environmental, that may be drawing pests toward the home or creating favorable conditions for them, and we advise on improvements that help over the long run. This is the heart of our eco-friendly, IPM approach: fix what's pulling pests in, and you need far less chemicals to keep them out.
Once we've gathered that information, we give you a professional recommendation, including a clear scope and cost, so you can make an informed decision on how you'd like to proceed. There's no obligation and no pressure. Plenty of clients use the evaluation simply to understand what they're dealing with and what their options are, and that's exactly what it's for.
A quick note on wording, since the two often get confused. A free evaluation is what we do when the concern is already clear and we simply need to see it in person to set a scope and price, like ants showing up on the kitchen counter. An inspection is a different task. That is when the evidence is not yet certain and we have to spend real time searching for it, such as looking for signs of bed bugs when all you have to go on is a few bite marks. That kind of searching is a paid inspection, while the evaluation itself is always free.
