A Third-Generation Pest-Control Family, Rooted in the Farmington Valley
Family-Owned Since 2017In the Trade Since 1976No Contracts, No SalesmenCT Licensed B-3361
Brothers Neil and Austin Vayda started Green Pest Control in 2017 to carry the family trade forward the way their father taught them: with honesty, punctuality, availability, and keeping your word.
From Davenport to the Farmington Valley
The story starts in Davenport, Iowa, where the Vaydas' grandfather worked for a national pest-control company, saw he could do it better, and built his own: Iowa-Illinois Termite & Pest Control, still serving the Quad Cities today. Neil and Austin's father came up through that company as its accounts manager, well known and well liked in the community, before moving the family to Connecticut to be near relatives and give his sons a quality education.
With no grand plan at first, he graduated top of his class at the University of Hartford's Barney School of Business and opened his own pest-control company in Simsbury. Neil and Austin grew up in the trade the way a coach's kids grow up in the game, learning the craft of building relationships and the techniques of the work side by side with their dad.
After their dad passed, the brothers opened Green Pest Control in 2017 to carry the torch, with all of their family's values at its core. It's a legacy that runs deep: today, five members of the extended Vayda family own and operate five separate pest-control companies across the country, a fifty-year track record in this trade that's genuinely rare.

The Small, Accountable Team Behind Your Service
We keep the team small on purpose, because the people who answer your call should be the people who show up at your door. Meet the core of our organization:
Neil Vayda
Owner. Holds the company's supervisory license (S-6070), directing the work and the operations on every job.
Austin Vayda
Co-founder and lead technician, the second half of the brother team. Professional career is solely in the industry.
Andre
Field technician, working alongside Austin, and a close friend of the family for decades.
Steven
At the helm of professionalism, communication and logistics, and was a Green Pest Control client himself since 2020 before coming aboard.

That accountability is the difference you feel. There's no rotating cast of unfamiliar crews and no call center between you and the people doing the work, just a licensed, local team that treats your home the way they'd treat their own.
Why We Work the Way We Do
Eco-Conscious by Conviction
We consider ourselves stewards of the planet in an industry where it's easy to do the opposite. We limit indoor pesticide use, lean on Integrated Pest Management to reduce chemical use altogether, and use only high-quality, low-risk materials where treatment is needed. Our eco-friendly method →
No Salesmen, No Contracts
You work directly with non-commissioned, fully licensed technicians paid to solve problems, not to sell you something. And we don't require contracts for ongoing prevention to get ahead of your concerns. Our service has to earn your loyalty every visit. Under 3% of our clients cancel their services annually, for reasons other than moving.
Communication You'll Actually Notice
Clients tell us we're as much therapists as problem-solvers, and they're only half-joking. We answer the first call ourselves, explain the process, confirm the day before, and again within 20 minutes of our arrival, so you're never left guessing.
Part of This Community
Neil and Austin both went through the Simsbury school system, and the family has called the Farmington Valley home for over 40 years, through school, work, church, and their kids' activities and friendships. They intend to keep Green Pest Control local and family-owned into the next generation. When you hire us, you're not hiring a brand; you're hiring neighbors who plan to be here a long time.
