The Technical Side of Real Flea Control
The four-stage life cycle, and why it matters
Egg, larva, pupa, adult, and only the adult is the biting flea you see. Eggs laid on a pet fall off into the environment; larvae develop down in carpet fibers; pupae spin protective cocoons and wait. Treating only the adults leaves three hidden stages to repopulate.
The pupal window, why a few fleas after treatment is normal
The pupa is sealed in a cocoon, largely protected from treatment, and can wait up to six months for the heat and vibration that signal a host. Even a perfect treatment is followed by a window during which pupae continue hatching. We'd rather you expect a couple of weeks of dwindling activity and be pleasantly surprised than promise an overnight miracle.
Why the pet and the home must be treated together
A flea problem is a loop: the pet seeds the environment, and the environment produces new adults that jump back on the pet. Break only one side and the other restarts it within weeks. We don't treat pets ourselves, a vet-recommended product on the animal is the other half of a fix that actually holds.
Why preparation makes or breaks the result
Thorough vacuuming physically removes eggs and larvae and (crucially) the vibration coaxes protected pupae to emerge where the treatment can reach them. Washing pet bedding in hot water eliminates a major reservoir. Skipping the prep leaves protected pockets that prolong the problem.

Do you treat my pet too?
